Warner Music Group Names Ron Wilcox Executive Counsel, Business Affairs, Strategic and Digital Initiatives

NEW YORK, NY, Apr 22, 2009 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG) announced today the appointment of new technology and business affairs veteran, Ron Wilcox, to the newly created position of Executive Counsel, Business Affairs, Strategic and Digital Initiatives. Wilcox will report to WMG's Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Paul Robinson, and will be based at WMG's headquarters in New York. In his new role, Wilcox will lead the business affairs efforts on WMG's major strategic and digital initiatives, working closely with WMG's digital legal team as well as the Company's Digital Strategy and Business Development department.

As part of a long career at Sony Music, Wilcox served as Executive Vice President, Chief Business and Legal Affairs Officer for Sony BMG Music Entertainment from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2004, he was Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and New Technology, for Sony Music Entertainment Inc. Most recently, Wilcox served as a consultant for numerous companies and artists in the areas of new media, technology and content acquisition through his own company, MDC.
