Warner Music Completes Distribution Deal With The Legion Records

First Release From Hip-Hop Icons Do or Die "D.O.D." In Stores February 1, 2005

WEA Corp., Warner Music Group's U.S. sales distribution company, in association with Atlantic Records, announced today that it will be the exclusive distributor for Chicago-based independent The Legion Records effective immediately. Under the multi-year agreement, WEA will provide U.S. Distribution services to Legion. Additionally, Legion has the ability when necessary, to utilize marketing and promotional support from Atlantic Records for releases.

The first release under the agreement will be from Chicago-based hip-hop artists Do or Die. Having sold more than three million units in the U.S. alone, Do or Die is credited with launching Chicago's national hip-hop movement. Guest producers on the album include Kanye West (Twista, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys), DJ Quik (2Pac, Talib Kweli), Scott Storch (Beyonce, Dr. Dre, The Roots) N.O. Joe (Scarface, The Geto Boys) and The Legendary Traxster (Twista, Mystikal). The self-titled album is due in stores February 1, 2005.

Rudolph Acosta, CEO of The Legion, just signed the pride of Indiana-Ric Jilla. Who has sold more than 10,000 units on his own causing a massive street buzz throughout the Midwest. Mr. Acosta says, "Our schedule for 2005 is strong and with the help of Lyor Cohen we're ready to win."
