NEW YORK, January 24, 2006 - WEA Corp., Warner Music Group Corp.'s (NYSE: WMG) U.S. sales and retail marketing company, today announced a series of promotions in two key areas: Sales & Marketing and Engineering & Digital operations.

In December, WEA announced a strategic reorganization designed to better position the company to take full advantage of opportunities presented by a changing physical and digital music retail environment. The reorganization and today's announcement are designed to address WEA's growing mandate at WMG, which includes retail sales and distribution and oversight of its leading independent distribution network, incubator initiative and e-Commerce group.

The promotions announced today are:

  • Alyson Shapero has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Advertising. Reporting to Todd Van Gorp, WEA's Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Shapero will oversee the advertising, marketing and creative departments at WEA. She joined WEA in 2003.

  • Elsa Vivero has been elevated to Vice President of Sales, Developing Markets and Genres. Previously Vice President, Latin Sales at WEA, Vivero's expanded responsibilities now include Latin sales and marketing, lifestyle sales and specialty and genre label sales. She reports to Van Gorp, as well.

  • Pat Kraus has been promoted to Vice President, Engineering and Digital Operations. Reporting to Mike Jbara, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at WEA, Kraus' responsibilities include all operational aspects in engineering, asset management and global digital asset fulfillment.
"As WEA continues to evolve from a purely U.S. sales and distribution company to include oversight of WMG's incubator labels, e-Commerce and digital assets, I am confident that Alyson, Elsa and Pat's promotions will allow WEA to better serve our customers, artists and label partners," said John Esposito, President and CEO of WEA Corp. "With their passion for music and their proven track record, they are sure to contribute to WEA as we continue our forward-looking transformation."
