De La Soul "Mix Tape," Plus Live Discs From R&B Legends Anita Baker And Donny Hathaway Arrive In Stores June 8

Rhino Records has announced a June 8th release for Anita Baker: A Night Of Rapture-Live, Donny Hathaway: These Songs For You, Live!, And De La Mix Tape: Remixes, Rarities & Classics, three sizzling albums of slow jams, simmering funk, and throbbing jeep-beats.

Recorded on tour in 1986, Anita Baker: A Night Of Rapture-Live is the eight-time Grammy-winner's first-ever live album and highlights her biggest hits, including smoldering performances of Top 10 singles "Sweet Love," "Caught Up In The Rapture," and "No One In The World." Also included is a breathtaking rendition of Van Morrison's "Moondance," recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival. As an added bonus, the enhanced CD features concert footage of "Sweet Love," "You Bring Me Joy," and "No One In The World."

Donny Hathaway: These Songs For You, Live! showcases the silky smooth, Grammy-winning Hathaway at the top of his game before an enthusiastic audience. Seven of the album's 14 tracks are being released for the first time ever, including "Flying Easy," "Valdez In The Country," and "Someday We'll All Be Free," all recorded at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1973. Also included are stunning covers of The Beatles' classic "Yesterday" (recorded at The Troubadour in Los Angeles in 1971) and Stevie Wonder's "Superwoman" (recorded at the University of California in 1972). The album also features previously unreleased excerpts from a rare 1973 radio interview originally aired on New York's WBLS.

De La Mix Tape: Remixes, Rarities & Classics features live tracks and new renditions of old favorites and smash hits from one of hip-hop's most influential groups. Among the album's many gems is a Badmarsh and Shri remix of 1989's "Me Myself And I," which originally appeared on De La Soul's critically acclaimed debut, 3 Feet High And Rising (one of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Ever Made"). De La Mix Tape: Remixes, Rarities & Classics also includes a live rendition of "Potholes In My Lawn," "I.C. Y'all" (featuring Busta Rhymes), "Big Brother Beat" (featuring Mos Def), and much more.
