Diesel And Warner Music International To Collaborate In "Diesel's Greatest Hips" Worldwide Campaign

03/08/04

Warner Music International, (WMI) today announced a worldwide marketing collaboration with Diesel, the Italian fashion company, as part of their "Diesel Greatest Hips" international campaign.

Following Diesel's announcement of a "Bad Record Amnesty," music lovers globally are encouraged to bring their most embarrassing records to their local Diesel store, in exchange for a "Greatest Hips" compilation album. This amnesty period will run through April.

Diesel has created twelve different, limited edition compilation albums (CD and vinyl) produced by WMI including featuring artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, Chris Rea, The Ramones, Busta Rhymes and Queen Latifah.

"We are delighted to cooperate with Diesel to bring new music to consumers worldwide," said Jay Durgan, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Warner Music International. "The combined strength of our brands enables us to continue to be at the forefront of bringing our artists and music to consumers in new ways."

Once all of records have been collected, Diesel stores will invite guest DJs to play a selection during special "Amnesty Hours" in store events. Local WMI artists will participate "Greatest Hips Parties" in some cities around the world subject to availability.

Afterwards, the "World's Worst Record Collection" will be auctioned on the Internet, together with E-Bay, with proceeds going to a charity group set up to further the development of unsuccessful musicians.
