Double-Disc Package In Stores May 11

Tired of political correctness? So are we-that's why it's time for HEY, THAT'S FUNNY! COMEDY'S GREATEST HITS, the first compilation spanning the modern comedy era. This refreshingly unflinching double-disc compilation is loaded with timeless bits from an all-star lineup of cutting-edge comedians that includes Chris Rock, The Jerky Boys, Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, George Carlin, Redd Foxx, Denis Leary, Steven Wright, Albert Brooks, Dennis Miller, Cheech & Chong, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and a whole lot more.

HEY, THAT'S FUNNY! COMEDY'S GREATEST HITS (Bulletproof Recording Company, Inc./Rhino) will be available May 11 at all retail outlets and at www.onlyhitmusic.com [ http://www.onlyhitmusic.com/ ] for a suggested retail price of $24.98.

Like Alice Cooper's 1972 classic School's Out, HEY, THAT'S FUNNY! COMEDY'S GREATEST HITS should come packaged with free underwear. You'll need the extra pair after listening to Redd Foxx do his notorious "You Gotta Wash" monologue, The Jerky Boys' hysterical "Sol's Glasses," and Sam Kinison's smart-alecky solution to world hunger ("It occurred to us that you people wouldn't be hungry if you lived where the FOOD IS! You live in a f*#kin' desert! We have deserts in America, we just don't live in them, assh*le!!!").

The set provides hours of laugh-out-loud moments, including Dennis Miller's discussion of safe sex ("Imagine the day they cure AIDS. If you can't get f*#ked that day, you might as well give it up."); Robert Schimmel's philosophy on bodybuilding ("I don't want to work out. I have a theory: the bigger you get, the smaller your d#ck looks."); and Steven Wright's tale of poker-playing with tarot cards ("I got a full house and four people died.").

HEY, THAT'S FUNNY! COMEDY'S GREATEST HITS is a monster mix of comedy legends and fresh blood, blending guffaw-generating jokes from pioneers such as Bill Cosby ("My Brother Russell"-from 1971's When I Was A Kid), Cheech & Chong ("Ralph & Herbie"-from 1972's Big Bambu), and Richard Pryor ("Discipline"-from his classic 1978 release Wanted/Richard Pryor, Live In Concert)," as well as younger talent like Chris Rock ("Blacks Aren't Crazy"), Triumph The Insult Comic Dog a.k.a. Robert Smigel ("Call To Kennel") and George Lopez ("Disposable Camera").

In addition, the twin-CD package features riotous material from Saturday Night Live's groundbreaking Not Ready For Prime Time Players (featuring Chevy Chase and Jane Curtin in a skit called "Gun Control"), British sketch comedy troupe Monty Python's Flying Circus (who perform "Argument Clinic," which aired originally on the BBC in February 1972), and National Lampoon (doing "Mr. Roberts," in which famed Spinal Tap-er Christopher Guest and recent Oscar nominee Bill "Lost In Translation" Murray satirize beloved children's show host Mister Rogers).

The two-disc set is the culmination of exhaustive research, planning and execution by producer Ralph Sall (Bulletproof founder and president), who spent hundreds of hours listening to "just about every comedy album ever recorded."

Talking about the level of talent featured on HEY, THAT'S FUNNY! COMEDY'S GREATEST HITS, Sall says, "These comics have pulled the mainstream over to their twisted way of thinking, which invariably turns out to be saner than the status quo. They've molded the concept and bent the fabric of what we consider funny and helped shape our views of the world. They've changed the way everyone thinks about everything."

Bulletproof Entertainment boasts an extensive history in both the music and film industries. On the music side, Sall has produced tracks for such diverse hitmakers as Sugar Ray, Aerosmith, Jewel, George Clinton, R. Kelly, and Willie Nelson, as well as helming successful tribute albums for groups like the Grateful Dead and The Eagles. As a composer, producer, and music supervisor, Sall has worked on such films as Scooby-Doo, 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless, Can't Hardly Wait, Speed, and many others.
