Warner/Chappell Music Extends Worldwide Publishing Agreement with Nickelback

NEW YORK, June 8, 2006—Warner/Chappell Music, the publishing arm of Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG), and one of the world's largest music publishers, today announced it has extended its music publishing agreement with Nickelback on a worldwide basis.
In making the announcement, Greg Sowders, Senior Vice President, A&R, Warner/Chappell Music, said, "Nickelback is one of the most popular and dynamic bands in the world. Their dedication to their fans, their incredible success of more than 19 million albums sold to date, and their uncanny ability to write hit songs puts them in a class all by themselves."
Richard Blackstone, Chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell Music, added, "Chad [Kroeger] is an extraordinary songwriter with a unique gift for writing songs that will stand the test of time. Warner/Chappell is not just thrilled but also extremely proud to continue our long and successful relationship as Nickelback's exclusive worldwide music publisher."
Formed in 1996, the four piece rock band originally hails from Hanna, Canada. Band members include Chad Kroeger, lead vocals and lead guitar, Ryan Peake, vocals and guitar, Mike Kroeger, bass, and Daniel Adair, drums.
Hit songs in the Nickelback catalog include: "How You Remind Me," "Photograph," "Someday," "Hero" [Theme from Spider-Man 1], the current hit “Savin' Me,” and the Chad Kroeger duet with Carlos Santana "Why Don't You and I." Nickelback has won numerous awards from SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada), nine Juno awards including Best New Artist, Album and Song of the Year, and in 2002 the BMI Song of the Year for "How You Remind Me." Nickelback's current LP, All the Right Reasons, is approaching five million sales worldwide.
Nickelback originally signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell in 2000, before the release of their first LP, The State.
